TZG have been designing basements beneath existing buildings for 25 years.
These range from small vaults to large 3 storey structures.
We can also prepare Basement Impact Assessments (BIAs) at the planning stage,
design and detail the permanent structure and have considerable temporary works experience.
TZG have been involved in the design of new build projects,
however we tend to specialise in more intricate projects working with existing buildings
around businesses that need to keep their operations live during the construction period.
This often involves phasing works in order to minimise disruption.
Our projects have included offices, warehouses, factories, railway stations and infrastructure, restaurants etc.
TZG have worked in this sector extensively. Experience has been gained on many
differing projects (from the extremely small to large) including Grade I listed buildings.
We are used to working closely with all the differing team members to come up with the
sensitive solutions in a variety of materials that these projects require.
TZG enjoy working in this sector. We apply the same rigorous attention to detail on these
smaller projects (extensions, loft conversions etc.) as on the larger ones.
We also carry out structural engineers’ surveys.
TZG have worked on a number of residential projects using steel frames, RC frames,
load bearing masonry and timber. We understand the need to work within the latest
stringent building regulations and sustainability requirements yet still
provide the client with a cost-effective structure.
TZG have much experience in this sector working for names such as Marina Rinaldi,
Tommy Hilfiger, Cartier, Virgin, HMV, Oscar De La Renta etc. We understand the need
to find methodologies that enable units either to keep trading or to keep closures to a minimum.
TZG have worked as an Expert Witness on a number of cases. We also advise Party Wall Surveyors;
especially adjoining owner’s surveyors as part of the Party Wall Act.
We are comfortable helping in the design of furniture (stools, chandeliers, display cabinets)
and railway station items (display boards, seating, canopies etc ).
TZG continue to design complex stairs in steel, concrete, timber and glass.
We often work directly for the end-user but also for specialist stair manufacturers.
